Key Job
Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring appropriate quality procedures are in place and being followed to support customer requirements; internal objectives; and TS 16949 processes.
Develop and maintain TS 16949 quality system
Execute all APQP and product verification requirements for new products
Establishes department policies, control processes and quality programs
Provide and maintain gaging and measurement instruments (calibration)
Exercises judgment in dealing with unusual cases or those involving significant cost
Works closely with design, training and process development staff to improve the quality of products and services
Responsible for the development, application and maintenance of quality control systems for processing materials into finished products
Provide sampling plans and approve inspection, methods for evaluation and testing of components and products
Develops and initiates methods and procedures for inspection, testing and evaluation
Prepare inspection standards, Visual standards and boundary samples for manufacturing processes to support and build in quality culture
Perform analysis of documents/information to insure that all critical product characteristics have been identified and properly evaluated Design specification; FMEA (Failure Mode Evaluation & Analysis): Product and Process Material Specification; QA system (in line control points)
Conduct training programs on quality activities
Develop measurement systems to monitor effectiveness of QA and reliability systems to identify, bracket, correct and prevent defects to demonstrate continuous improvement to management
Provide statistical support and expertise in DOE (Design of Experiments) and analytical problem solving for manufacturing, technical services and product development
Work using a team approach to assure preventive and corrective actions are implemented effectively
Travel as required to customer facilities to address customer quality concerns (minimal
Lean manufacturing background a plus
Supplier Quality
Responsibilities:
Develop and coordinate activities for supplier quality management to ensure prevention and control of poor supplier quality
Assist suppliers with problem solving activities
Review supplier countermeasure reports to ensure proper root cause and countermeasure activities are deployed for continuous improvement
Participate in supplier quality system audits
Review and approve PPAP for new and modified supplier processes
Qualifications:
A four year engineering or technical degree
Five to Ten Years experience in quality engineering
Strong metal stamping and assembly experience
Must have outstanding oral/written communication skills
CMM, Automotive PPAP or APQP experience would be a plus
Six Sigma experience and Lean Manufacturing is a plus
Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite is a requirement
