Due to an internal promotion, Academic Benchmarks is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing team in Mason, Ohio. This position will perform all phases of application analysis and design. Essential duties include designing, testing, and debugging programs and consulting with internal and external users on program needs. This senior programmer will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including the architecture of solutions, creation of design documentation, actual coding, and developing test plans. In addition, the Senior Software Engineer will provide accurate development estimates and deliver projects on schedule.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with outstanding communication, technical and problem solving skills, in addition to having:
Bachelor degree in a related field with at least 5 to 10 years related experience or equivalent knowledge gained through related work experience.
Expertise in object oriented design and design patterns
Experience with implementing algorithms to solve complex real world problems
PERL 5 experience preferred, however experience with PHP, Python or Ruby will be considered
Solid skills with HTTP/REST, AJAX, HTML5, CSS, XML/JSON, MySQL, and mod_perl/Apache 2 also preferred
Data analytics, AWS or other cloud platform experience, jQuery, Moose, and CORS experience a plus, but not required
