This Sr. DBA will design, maintain, and control the Oracle production, lab and other databases that are part of our proprietary software environments. Support the future database direction of the company leveraging Datastax Cassandra and other NoSQL database technologies. Contribute to future data warehousing strategy and implementation. Analyze all informational requirements, develop database specifications, and enforce all database standards. Support data governance, regulatory and other compliance processes and protocols. Working with various teams, establish disaster recovery and business continuity protocols. Must be Perm Resident or U.S. Citizen.

Essential Functions:
Takes on the analysis and definition of the logical and physical database structure in cooperation with other technical staff to support the current and future needs of the company.
Maintains the operations of company's Oracle RAC database environment.
Supports efforts of other teams to use a Data Modeling approach to software changes.
Develops, documents, and enforces the standards, security procedures, and controls for access to ensure integrity of the database system.
Establishes role based security for company Oracle environments.
Participates in and supports audit activities as necessary.
Designs, implements, and periodically tests the database backup and recovery procedure in conjunction with other IT staff.
Designs procedures for testing and implementing new applications in the database environment.
Analyzes current and projected future database performance requirements; fine-tunes or recommends hardware changes when necessary.
Consults with different departments to define needs and refine system to maximize multipurpose uses.
Interacts with technical support team and vendors to schedule upgrades, modifications, and required maintenance.
Maintains knowledge of database technology developments through training courses, seminars, and publications.
QUALIFICATIONS AND
Experience:
B.S. degree in computer science or equivalent.
Proven ability to establish procedures and protocols to streamline database administration across multiple environments.
Highly experienced with Oracle 11gR2 - minimum 5 years.
Oracle RAC with ASM experience - minimum 5 years.
Experience with Enterprise Manager Grid Control (OEM) - minimum 5 years.
Experience with Active Data Guard highly desirable.
Support of a complex environment, including production OLTP in a high-availability environment and some data warehousing background.
Ability to use a modeling tool, such as ERWIN.
Hands-on experience with TOAD desirable.
Experience with NetApp as the production SAN desirable.
Working knowledge of high availability architectures along with knowledge of private cloud and maximum availability architectures highly desirable.
Oracle certification nice to have.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
